MINUTES OF GQ AGM 2022 Guildford Quilters AGM Wednesday 12.01.2022

Each of the committee members explained their roles:
Rita Tallent Co-ordinates and organises: GQ support for ‘Quilts for Care Leavers’, Tea & Coffee rota, Articles for the magazine, Facebook & Whats App sites.
Deena Goff Membership Secretary. All aspects regarding membership, both new and renewed, ensuring all contact details are maintained in accordance with data protection policy.
Isabel Pedrick Organises monthly raffle. A ‘go-to’ helper for range of other tasks.
Doreen Plumridge New members mentor, and exhibition curator. Doreen is a GQ founder member 37 years ago so is a huge resource of skills and information).
Diana Butcher Co-ordinator of baby quilts for The Royal Surrey Hospital SCBU, management of Accuquilt Go! and library.
Sue Walker Speaker & workshop co-ordinator – responding to requests for speaker and workshop events & associated attendees in liaison with the treasurer and chair.

Newsletter Thanks and huge recognition for their excellent work on the Newsletter Hilary Carter Newsletter Editor and Denise Chamberlain Newsletter producer responsible for the IT and layout.
GQ Challenge 2022 Rita Tallent explained this year’s challenge, a post-card using black & white plus one other colour, to be submitted at the May GQ meeting . The plan is to ask Janet Clare our lecturer that month to judge this challenge
Term of Office: Gerry’s 3 year term of office as Chair will finish in January 2023 but she is willing to continue in post to help organise next year’s exhibition, after which she will expect to hand over to a new Chairperson. This was formally adopted by the quorum of the membership present at this meeting.
Linda (treasurer) referred to the need to identify members willing to take their turn on the committee to replace those who have served for 3 years. However, she has also inserted an amendment into the constitution to enable post of treasurer to run for unspecified periods of time as we cannot operate without this post.
2022 programme: Gerry described this year’s programme details of which will also be available on the GQ web-site.
Help at the start and end of GQ meetings Albury Hall caretaker is not willing to be involved with setting up and putting away tables & chairs etc in preparation for our meetings so members help is very much needed and appreciated, in putting out and away tables and chairs at the beginning and end of meetings
