Here is an edited message from Sally Jochimsen Individual Giving Fundraising Manager
Dear Diana and Members of Guildford Quilters,
I hope this letter finds you all well and looking forward to getting back to a “new normal”!
On behalf of the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and the Royal Surrey Charity I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all of you who made the beautiful baby quilts which Diana very kindly dropped off to us last Friday. Today was the first time since Friday that I have been able to visit the ward and whole team including Matron wanted to show their appreciation and thanks to you all by sending you the attached photo of them receiving the quilts. (ed – see Gallery)
We have not yet been able to return to our normal activities within the hospital, such as holding our table-top sales, and so are unable to take in other donated items which we would normally love to accept and are only asking for items that can be distributed straight to the wards and these were just perfect, thank you.
Your fabulous handmade items really do make a difference to our youngest patients and we regularly receive lovely comments from the ward staff saying how much the parents on SCBU appreciate these wonderful and much-needed items which they can take home and keep.
Thank you all again for all your continued support and hope to see you soon.
